The way we breathe can impact anxiety for better or for worse. Have you ever been so tense that you notice your heart is racing, your muscles are tight, you have sweaty palms and you are shallowly breathing? When our brains sense a threat to our survival our bodies respond. Our brains like to warn us of any trouble that may be at hand. This is good, we want our minds to protect our lives. Our bodies respond to our brains often before we realize the threat at hand. Sometimes our brains perceive risks that are not real, but our bodies have already responded. In today’s world there are a lot of people living in this “threatened and heightened state.” I will share tools that can help you know how to relax and be your best self.https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/22187-cortisolhttps://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/22572-serotoninPresident Russell M.
